The Black man in the United States of America has suffered over 300 years of Slavery and legal Segregation (Jim Crow). What's the blowback behind such actions? For that matter, what does the term blowback mean?

In military terms blowback is defined as an unforeseen set of repercussions, the unintended adverse results of an action or situation. The blowback relative to Black folks in the United States of America has been disenfranchised communities, poor schools and discrimination relative to higher employment on the cooperate level, discrimination in union positions, discrimination in city and state contracts.

August 28, 2013 has been marked by several Civil Rights leaders as the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington commemorating the 1963 MARCH ON WASHINGTON FOR JOBS AND FREEDOM where our beloved Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., gave his famous "I Have a Dream" speech advocating racial harmony.

So basically 15 years before I was born I didn't have Civil Rights or Freedom as those who skin color was different then mine. It means my mother and father grew up in an America that viewed them as secular and less than.

I see a direct parallel in Chicago where over 50 Chicago Public Schools have been CLOSED in Black and Brown neighborhoods, why? Supposedly budget cuts, which only means DISENFRANCHISEMENT! The education of Black and Brown children do not matter!

As I drive down Lake Shore Drive listening to 2pac "Changes" its all hitting me at one time. The voice of Hip Hop and Rap is the voice of ancient Black souls crying from the Mississippi River, the Atlantic Ocean, Strange Fruit hanging from Trees rhyming thwarts overt and covert slavery, segregation and racism. Its a voice of new money, pain, anger, frustration, ignorance, intelligence, love, hate, kill, take...its the American Dream or is it a Dream Deferred?
