America & the Black Ghetto

200 years of slavery and 100 years of Jim Crow (legal segregation / 1877 - 1965) plus agriculture policies that stopped African American/Black sharecropping leading to the flood of Blacks leaving Egypt (the South) only to escape into Babylon (the North) into various impoverished inner cities with no jobs or skills.

Was this by design? The Black man has been disenfranchised in America since his arrival in 1609. From 1877 - 1965 the Black man was legally segregated and disenfranchised. Blacks have only been TOTALLY free to enjoy the full benefits of being American since July 2, 1964 when former President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act drafted by his predecessor former President John F. Kennedy.

So basically Blacks have been full United States of America citizens for only 50 years. What Nation or Race of people do you know have made the achievements of Blacks in only 50 years? In only 50 years of total freedom Blacks have produced multimillionaires and even a United States President.

Nevertheless, everything hasn't been honkey dory.
For example, we still see disenfranchisement in
America's ghettos and impoverished communities.

Various Jim Crow systems and mentalities permeate old politicians who continue to keep Blacks locked out of various jobs and contracts. Interesting note: in 1964 the Civil Rights Act was signed into law, however, the Vice Lords, Gangster Disciples, and Latin Kings were already in play as it relates to poor Blacks and Hispanics being disenfranchised and creating groups to protect themselves.

The Latin Kings were founded in the 1940's, the Vice Lords in the 1950's, the Gangster Disciples in the 1960's. They were the children of sharecroppers who fled the South only to come to the North, East and West with no jobs or skills.

Then we see the mysterious arrival of crack cocaine in 1984 in Chicago, New York City, Los Angeles and Miami. I ask again, was this by design or the blowback of setting free Blacks who didn't have adequate education, jobs or skills?

The question remains...who introduced these poor, uneducated, disenfranchised people to the science of making and selling crack cocaine? The Government in response to chronic poverty provided Public Aid to minorities and single White women on certain conditions. A woman could receive Public Aid as long as her parents didn't live with her or her unemployed boyfriend which in turn broke up Black families. Again, I sincerely ask...was this by design?

Crack cocaine hit in 1984 which means the children/generation we currently see in America's ghetto's and inner cities are Frankenstein crack-babies. Again, who do we blame?! The reality is Black men became filthy rich in America's ghettos via the sale and distribution of crack cocaine, nevertheless, none of that wealth was substained. The drug lords and gang leaders were investigated and sent to prison for life.

Of course a percentage (10% of Blacks) have managed to achieve the American Dream, yet many Black still live in chronic poverty unable to avoid the pitfalls and backlash of systems designed to keep them inferior, ignorant, and incarcerated.

The only way out for the Black man and his family is the Black Church! If Black men attended Church it would refocus their agendas and create a better society for us all.
