Jesus and the American Black Church

Over 2000 years ago a man named Jesus walked this Earth. He was full of power, he was the son of GOD born of a virgin woman (Matthew 1:18). As this man Jesus grew strong he started in ministry at age 30. The Earthly ministry of Jesus only lasted 3 years. In 3 years he produced 12 disciples.

What is Jesus saying to the Black church of America? Its simple, he's saying why aren't you carrying out my works and following my example? The example is Jesus produced leaders! He empowered men! He made men into fishers of men! Matthew 4:19 and Matthew 10:1.

Why aren't Black pastors' making leaders i.e. Apostles, Pastors, Prophets, Evangelists, Teachers, Ministers (Ephesians 4:11-12 / Hebrews 1:7)? Black men are falling off from church because there simply isn't anything for them to do. Men by nature are active, ministry must engage men and keep them active.

Ministry must make men feel they are part of something bigger than themselves. The 12 disciples didn't sit around, watch Jesus do all the work, no! Jesus put his 12 disciples to work (Matthew 10:1). Why did Jesus put them to work? Because work is a divine mandate. Even GOD worked 6 days and rested on the 7th (Genesis 2:2).

What we currently see is a few men in church serving for years and not progressing. If you've been a pastor for over 5 years and haven't produced other pastors and ministers then something is wrong with your loans. Pastors' must produce other pastors and ministers, point blank! Jesus produced 12 disciples who became Apostles in only 3 years, so what's your excuse?

Men are frustrated because they're sitting on their gifts and talents. Is the Pastor the only man who preaches on Sunday? Know ye not the Kingdom of GOD isn't ran by one man (Exodus 18:13-26)? We are missing entire generations because we lack the discernment to target leadership, empower leadership and send leaders out in the streets, highways and byways (Matthew 10:16) to gather souls for the Kingdom!

Years ago in the 1950's - 80's there stood a man name Bishop Dr. Charles E. Poole pastor of Bethlehem Healing Temple Church and Presiding Prelate of the Living Witnesses of the Apostolic Faith, INC., this man was extremely meek yet powerful! He produced so many Bishops, Pastors, Evangelists, Teachers, and Ministers no one knows the exact number.

GOD is trying to raise up modern day Bishop Pooles' who will understand the Kingdom doesn't belong to them personally, you are a King within the Kingdom, but the Kingdom belongs to our Master! Since the ancient days of Israel the people of GOD desired a King (1 Samuel 8:6 / Acts 13:21-23) The King we serve is Jesus, he is our King of Kings and Lord of Lords (Revelation 19:16).

This is iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17) this is the greatest among us serving as the least (Luke 22:26) yet respected as the greatest! This is making men into good men! This is the manhood of Jesus which is to build, to empower, to send forth (Matthew 16:18). If we continue to fail relative to producing leaders the Black community in America which is a spiritual village will only get worse and violence will prevail as idle minds lay sleep, dreams deferred, gifts and talents wasted...
