Chicago Will Miss Jacqueline T. Jackson

Chicago lost an amazing person and spirit. With great sadness our dear Jacqueline T. Jackson passed. She was a caring and kind soul. If Jackie knew you were in any type of trouble she'd avail herself to aide and assist you in any way possible.

Jackie was brilliant at uniting people. She was a stalwart in Chicago, and especially Black Chicago. Jackie T. Jackson mentored many. The last time we talked she was mentoring a couple of young ladies in college.

When I say mentor, I mean she was a mentor of mentors. The young ladies she mentored received all kinds of things from Jackie, including summer employment, housing and even money. She was simply amazing like that.

"the loss of Jacqueline (Jackie, Auntie Jackie, Candy) T. Jackson has rocked the upper crust Black community in Chicago. Her work was legendary and I doubt will ever be matched!"

"...Jackie was also hilarious. She could see the
silver lining in just about every situation!"

Ms. Jackson was an alumni of Alvernia High School, Florida A&M University, and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She was a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated.

Jackie T. Jackson worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield. She was instrumental in providing health care for the underserved, under-insured and uninsured.

She volunteered over 10 years of her life as a "Student Motivator" at the BLACK STAR PROJECT, a program dedicated to uplifting at-risk African American youth and young adults in Chicago.

Although her passing seems sudden...we trust and believe the universe knew what it was doing when it allowed Jackie into the spiritual realm to live with the ancestors.

She lived a full life of charity. She will be greatly missed. We love you Jackie. Thank you for being so amazing. We were blessed to experience your greatness.
